The cool forest, the warm sea and Big bear lake boat rentals
from:Only a hundred miles from Los Angles, the community of big bear lake has every thing a tourist can desire. One of the major attractions of this paradise (surrounded by San Bernardino National Forest), is the lake. And what is the lake for if you do not take a boat to spend either quiet relaxing family time in it or go for some speed boating. Big bear lake boat rentals come in all sizes to cater to different needs. You cannot talk of big bear lake boat rentals, without a mention of pontoons. There are pontoon boats that can accommodate up to 12 people. These modern boats are equipped with efficient 4 stroke outboard motors that purr rather than piercing your eardrums. They would cost you about $80 an hour. There are discounts if you hire them for longer periods as, for hiring a pontoon for two hours you would have to pay $140, for four hours $195, and for eight hours 280.
The smaller pontoons, which seat about 6 people, are cheaper at about $65 per hour. The big bear lake boat rentals include, 14 foot aluminum fishing boats as also canoes and kayaks for those who would rather go for a break far away from the madding crowd and their own thing. The variety in big bear lake boat rentals available also includes smaller boats. An average sized family of 4-5 persons looking for good time together can opt for a fishing boat at $ 45 for two hours.
Big bear lake boat rentals also include something for those inclined towards adventure. The wave runners are costlier even as compared to a big pontoon, but then nothing compares with a swoosh of a ride over the lake for a real adrenalin rush. On an average, the smaller wave runner with a 2 seater capacity costs only about $85, while a 3 seater would cost you about $110 dollars. The 4 seater is cheaper per person as it costs only around $125.
For the lone ranger, or exercise minded the kayaks and canoes come for about $20 an hour.
The speed boats are costlier than all of these at $100 per hour. Remember two important things however- one, the speed limit is 35 miles, and second, they are not allowed to tow any sport equipment etc.
When deciding on a big bear lake boat rental, you would do well to remember a few things. Fuel cost is not included in the rates. You are likely to be asked to pay a security deposit when you go for a big bear boat rental. Another small thing to remember is that due to coast guard regulations, small children, and even infants count as passengers. The providers may also charge you extra if you pay by credit card. Some providers may also insist on a minimum usage, of 2 hrs for example.
